What this trial studies

This observational study analyzes the clinical outcomes of patients with pancreatic head, periampullary, and duodenal cancer who undergo the Triangle procedure. The approach involves a detailed surgical exploration to assess tumor infiltration of critical arteries and utilizes an 'artery-first' maneuver to guide surgical decisions. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of this artery-sparing technique in achieving successful surgical outcomes. Postoperative short- and long-term results will be evaluated to assess the procedure's efficacy.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are fit patients diagnosed with pancreatic head, periampullary, or duodenal cancer.

Not a fit: Patients who are unfit or deemed inoperable will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this procedure could improve surgical outcomes and survival rates for patients with pancreatic cancer.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, similar studies have not been widely reported, indicating a novel exploration in surgical techniques for pancreatic cancer.
