What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the safety of pharmacopuncture treatment in hospitalized patients with spinal joint diseases across seven Korean medicine hospitals. By monitoring adverse events and analyzing blood test results, the study seeks to provide insights into the safety profile of this treatment modality. A total of 1,020 patients will be observed, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of pharmacopuncture's effects. The study focuses on inpatients aged 19 to 70 who have consented to participate.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are hospitalized patients aged 19 to 70 with diagnosed spinal joint diseases who have received pharmacopuncture treatment.
Not a fit: Patients who are unable to provide informed consent or those deemed unsuitable for participation by researchers will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of pharmacopuncture's safety, potentially leading to safer treatment options for musculoskeletal conditions.
How similar studies have performed: While pharmacopuncture is a recognized treatment in Korean medicine, this specific observational study is novel in its comprehensive safety evaluation.
