What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the interlaboratory reliability of 3D gait analysis conducted on healthy individuals using an instrumented treadmill across three different laboratories. Approximately 30 healthy subjects will be recruited from the staff and students of the participating centers, with each subject undergoing gait analysis at all three locations. The findings will help determine if control data can be pooled for future studies and facilitate collaborations for larger sample sizes. Additionally, it will inform whether patient data can be shared among labs with specific expertise in various gait evaluations.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals aged 18-65 without any neurological disorders or balance issues.
Not a fit: Patients with neurological disorders, balance problems, or those who have undergone leg surgeries may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the standardization of gait analysis, leading to more reliable assessments and improved patient referrals.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of assessing interlaboratory reliability is not widely tested, similar studies in other fields have shown promising results in standardizing measurement techniques.
