What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess how sexual intercourse and orgasm within 72 hours following the transfer of blastocyst-stage embryos affect clinical pregnancy rates. It focuses on women in heterosexual relationships undergoing frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles at the Dexeus Woman Reproduction Medicine Service. The study seeks to clarify the role of sexual activity during this critical period, as many couples undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) may alter their sexual behavior due to concerns about influencing the outcome. Participants will be monitored to determine any correlation between sexual activity and pregnancy success.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women in heterosexual relationships who are undergoing frozen embryo transfer.

Not a fit: Patients who are not in heterosexual relationships or those not undergoing embryo transfer will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the role of sexual intercourse in enhancing pregnancy rates after embryo transfer.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically addressing this question, similar studies in reproductive health have shown varying results regarding the impact of sexual activity on pregnancy outcomes.
