What this trial studies
The Cal-FIRE project aims to assess the R3 Academy for Dads, a 24-hour evidence-based parenting program designed for low-income fathers in California. Participants can choose between attending live classes or livestream workshops, with the study comparing the effectiveness of these two modalities on father involvement and co-parenting. Eligible fathers will complete surveys before, after, and four months post-program to evaluate outcomes. The program also includes components addressing economic stability and offers incentives for participation and completion.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are low-income adult fathers aged 18 and over with at least one child aged 24 years or younger residing in California.
Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the age or residency requirements, or those without children, may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance father involvement and improve family dynamics for low-income families.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in similar fatherhood programs, indicating potential for positive outcomes with this approach.
