What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the early postoperative health status of patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA) at Strasbourg University Hospital. By utilizing the QoR-15 questionnaire, the study will track the quality of recovery from the perioperative moment up to 28 days post-surgery. The goal is to provide a clearer understanding of how initial recovery impacts long-term outcomes for these patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older who have undergone THA or TKA at Strasbourg University Hospital within the specified timeframe.

Not a fit: Patients who had hip fractures or multiple surgeries for THA or TKA may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance postoperative care strategies, leading to improved recovery experiences for patients undergoing hip and knee replacements.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have explored postoperative recovery, this specific approach using the QoR-15 questionnaire in a retrospective cohort is relatively novel.
