What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the efficacy of radiofrequency treatment for patients with hemorrhoidal pathology who have undergone surgery at the Fondation Hôpital Saint Joseph. The study focuses on patients operated on between March 2017 and March 2023, utilizing rigorous criteria to determine 'cure' rates rather than just symptomatic improvement. By applying a radiofrequency current to the internal hemorrhoidal tissue, the study seeks to evaluate the long-term outcomes and patient satisfaction associated with this minimally invasive technique.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include French-speaking adults aged 18 and older with diagnosed hemorrhoidal pathology who have undergone radiofrequency treatment.

Not a fit: Patients with certain conditions such as Crohn's disease, perianal fistula, or psychiatric disorders may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective treatment option for patients suffering from hemorrhoid prolapse.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with radiofrequency techniques in treating hemorrhoidal conditions, indicating potential for success in this approach.
