What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the preferences of French adult patients with oncological diseases regarding which healthcare professional they prefer to discuss advance care planning. Participants will complete a self-questionnaire, available in both electronic and paper formats, to indicate their choices. The study focuses on understanding patient preferences to improve communication and decision-making in advance care planning.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are French-speaking adults currently undergoing treatment for neoplastic diseases or in palliative care.

Not a fit: Patients who do not speak French or are not currently involved in oncological care may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance patient-centered care by aligning advance care planning discussions with patient preferences.

How similar studies have performed: While there may be studies on advance care planning, this specific focus on patient preferences in an oncological context is relatively novel.
