What this trial studies

This observational study aims to explore the relationship between kinesiophobia, which is the fear of movement due to pain, and clinical parameters in patients diagnosed with Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAIS). It will assess symptomatic patients aged 18 to 65 who have not undergone recent hip surgery and will utilize physical examinations and surveys to gather data. The study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of how fear of movement affects the clinical outcomes and functional capacities of individuals suffering from FAIS.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 65 diagnosed with 'cam' type femoroacetabular impingement syndrome without recent surgical history in the hip area.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of psychological or mental illness or those with overlapping symptoms from other conditions may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for patients with Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome by addressing both physical and psychological aspects of their condition.

How similar studies have performed: While there is limited research specifically on kinesiophobia in FAIS, studies on related conditions have shown that understanding the psychological aspects of pain can enhance treatment outcomes.
