What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the efficacy of joint replacement surgeries for patients suffering from hip and knee osteoarthritis. It focuses on identifying factors that predict satisfactory or unsatisfactory outcomes based on preoperative patient-reported outcome measures. By analyzing these outcomes, the study seeks to enhance understanding of functional recovery and potential treatment failures following joint replacement. The research will involve patients undergoing joint replacement surgery and will utilize various patient-relevant outcome measures.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include patients with primary or secondary hip and knee osteoarthritis who are scheduled for joint replacement surgery.
Not a fit: Patients with cognitive impairments, neuromuscular diseases, or those who have had recent joint replacements may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the prediction of outcomes for patients undergoing joint replacement, leading to better individualized treatment plans.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results in predicting outcomes based on preoperative measures, suggesting that this approach has potential for success.
