What this trial studies
This randomized controlled trial evaluates the effectiveness of Mobilization with Movement (MWM) compared to conventional physiotherapy in improving pain, function, and quality of life for patients with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). Participants will receive either MWM combined with a tailored therapeutic exercise program or standard physiotherapy treatment. The study aims to determine which approach yields better outcomes for individuals suffering from TOS symptoms lasting at least three months.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18-65 diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and experiencing symptoms for at least three months.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously undergone surgery for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome or have significant comorbidities affecting upper limb function may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a more effective treatment option for patients suffering from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
How similar studies have performed: While there is limited data on the specific use of MWM for TOS, similar approaches in physical therapy have shown promise in improving outcomes for various musculoskeletal conditions.
