What this trial studies

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Lifespan Integration (LI) therapy in treating patients diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The intervention involves a novel psychotherapy approach aimed at addressing the psychological impacts of trauma and abuse. Participants must be French-speaking and have not previously undergone LI therapy, while allowing for concurrent psychotropic medication. The study excludes individuals with certain psychiatric conditions to ensure a focused assessment of LI therapy's efficacy.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are French-speaking individuals diagnosed with complex PTSD who have not previously received Lifespan Integration therapy.

Not a fit: Patients with active manic or psychotic episodes, chronic psychotic disorders, or those on other forms of psychotherapy may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this therapy could provide a new and effective treatment option for patients suffering from complex PTSD.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of Lifespan Integration therapy may be novel, other psychotherapeutic interventions for complex PTSD have shown varying degrees of success.
