What this trial studies

This observational study focuses on translating and adapting the Marx Activity Rating Scale and the Knee Stability in Sports/Cutting-Pivoting Ability scale for Arabic-speaking athletes with anterior cruciate ligament injuries. It aims to assess the psychometric properties of these scales among a sample of 100 athletes, both with ACL injuries and healthy participants, recruited from various hospitals and sports clubs in Saudi Arabia. Participants will provide informed consent and complete patient-reported outcome measures to evaluate their activity levels and knee stability.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are athletes aged 18 to 45 with a unilateral ACL injury who can read and write in Arabic.

Not a fit: Patients with other lower limb injuries or musculoskeletal conditions that limit physical activity may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide valuable insights into the assessment of knee stability and activity levels in Arabic-speaking athletes, leading to improved rehabilitation strategies.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have been conducted, this specific adaptation for Arabic-speaking populations is novel and may provide unique insights.
