What this trial studies

This observational study aims to enroll 80-100 patients diagnosed with acute pulmonary embolism who are treated with thrombolysis at two hospitals in Nanjing. The researchers will monitor dynamic changes in cardiopulmonary function post-thrombolysis, assessing various indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and echocardiographic measurements. Participants will be categorized into thrombolytic success and failure groups based on established criteria evaluated 48 hours after treatment. The goal is to identify rapid and accurate indicators that reflect the effectiveness of thrombolysis in these patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include individuals with medium-high or high-risk pulmonary embolism who are eligible for thrombolysis treatment.

Not a fit: Patients who lack radiologic evidence of pulmonary embolism or those who die within 48 hours post-treatment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide critical insights into the effectiveness of thrombolysis, leading to improved treatment protocols for acute pulmonary embolism.

How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on thrombolysis in pulmonary embolism, this specific approach to dynamically monitor cardiopulmonary function is relatively novel.
