What this trial studies

This observational study assesses the relationship between health and digital health literacy and attitudes toward complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) among patients at a physical medicine and rehabilitation outpatient clinic. It aims to understand how low health literacy may influence patients' decisions to use potentially unsafe herbal products. The study will involve at least 200 volunteer patients aged 18 to 65, who will complete questionnaires measuring their health literacy and attitudes toward CAM. The findings are expected to inform educational efforts to enhance health literacy and improve rehabilitation outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients aged 18 to 65 who are literate and willing to participate.

Not a fit: Patients who are unwilling or unable to cooperate, or those with cognitive or psychiatric impairments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved patient decision-making and better rehabilitation outcomes through enhanced health literacy.

How similar studies have performed: While this approach is observational and may not have been extensively tested in this specific context, studies on health literacy and patient attitudes toward CAM have shown promising results in other settings.
