What this trial studies
This observational study aims to analyze the epidemiology, risk factors, and clinical characteristics of headaches during influenza infections. It will utilize historical data from the VIGIRA network covering flu seasons from 2010 to 2022, alongside a prospective case series for new cases during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 influenza seasons. The study will involve collaboration with the Healthcare Sentinel Network of Castile and Leon and the National Influenza Center of Valladolid, focusing on the impact of influenza on headache disorders.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults over 18 years old with a confirmed diagnosis of influenza virus infection.
Not a fit: Patients with critical medical conditions, cognitive impairments, or language barriers that hinder assessment may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance understanding of headache disorders related to influenza, leading to better management and treatment options for affected patients.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been studies on influenza and headache, this specific observational approach focusing on epidemiology and clinical phenotype is relatively novel.
