What this trial studies
This observational study aims to pilot a scale designed to help clinicians assess the force they perceive while delivering manual therapies. Licensed chiropractors will perform spinal manipulations and mobilizations on a manikin, using the Manual Therapy Force Perception (MTFP) scale to rank their perceived force. The study will evaluate the correlation between the actual force applied and the clinicians' subjective perceptions, while also gathering feedback on the usability of the MTFP scale from participating clinicians.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are licensed chiropractors practicing in Quebec, Canada.
Not a fit: Patients who are not licensed chiropractors or those unable to perform manual therapies will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the accuracy of force application in manual therapy, leading to improved patient outcomes.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of using a force perception scale is innovative, similar observational studies have not been widely reported, making this a novel exploration.
