What this trial studies

This study aims to assess the impact of two decision aids designed for patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) on their decision-making process and the quality of their treatment choices. The decision aids will provide detailed information about treatment options, including potential benefits and side effects, to help patients make informed decisions aligned with their values. The study focuses on patients with either local or metastatic RCC who are facing treatment decisions. By implementing these aids, the study seeks to enhance patient knowledge, reduce anxiety, and improve overall health outcomes.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients clinically diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma who are facing treatment decisions related to their condition.

Not a fit: Patients who are unable to complete questionnaires or participate in interviews individually may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could empower patients with RCC to make more informed treatment decisions, leading to better alignment of care with their personal values and preferences.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that decision aids can significantly improve patient outcomes and decision-making processes, indicating a promising approach in this context.
