What this trial studies

This study investigates the effectiveness of single-shade resin-based composites (RBCs) in matching the color of anterior teeth compared to conventional multi-shade composites. Using spectrophotometric analysis, the research aims to objectively measure shade matching and assess patient and clinician satisfaction with the aesthetic results. A total of 240 teeth will be treated, with participants receiving both types of restorations to allow for direct comparison. The study employs a double-blind design to ensure unbiased evaluations of the materials used.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates include adults aged 18 and older requiring restorations on at least two anterior teeth with good oral hygiene.

Not a fit: Patients with severe tooth discoloration, periodontal disease, or those undergoing orthodontic treatment may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved aesthetic outcomes in dental restorations, enhancing patient satisfaction.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with similar approaches in enhancing aesthetic outcomes in dental restorations.
