What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to assess the efficacy of CO2 Lift in reducing bruising and pain following liposuction procedures. It employs a randomized, controlled, single-blind design where participants receive CO2 Lift on one area of their body and a placebo (Vaseline) on a contralateral area. The study will measure outcomes such as the extent of bruising at 7 days post-surgery, pain levels using a Visual Analogue Scale, and patient satisfaction through the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale. Data will be collected through photographic analysis and patient-reported outcomes over a period of time.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are healthy individuals undergoing liposuction or liposculpture procedures without significant comorbidities.
Not a fit: Patients with a BMI of 32 kg/m2 or higher, pregnant individuals, or those with known allergies to CO2 Lift or Vaseline may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly enhance recovery experiences for patients undergoing liposuction by reducing postoperative bruising and pain.
How similar studies have performed: While the specific application of CO2 Lift in this context is novel, similar studies exploring the use of carboxytherapy for postoperative recovery have shown promising results.
