What this trial studies

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of clear aligners in achieving maxillary molar distalization. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive treatment with aligners designed to move their molars into a more favorable position. The study will focus on measuring the accuracy of the aligners in achieving the desired dental movement. Eligible participants include individuals with specific orthodontic conditions who are compliant with treatment protocols.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals over 15 years old with Class I or Class II malocclusion requiring molar distalization and mild crowding in the upper arch.

Not a fit: Patients with significant dental discrepancies, periodontal disease, or those requiring extraction treatments may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a less invasive and more effective orthodontic treatment option for patients needing molar repositioning.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promising results with clear aligners for various orthodontic applications, suggesting potential success for this approach.
