What this trial studies

This study evaluates the ecological environment of patients suffering from schizophrenia-like disorders using a new questionnaire called ESSME. The approach involves home visits to administer the questionnaire, allowing for a more personalized assessment of the patients' daily concerns and needs. Participants will be involved for a duration of six months, with multiple visits to gather data at different points in time. The goal is to improve care by setting objectives that are closely aligned with the patients' real-life situations.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18 to 65 with a diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who are receiving care in a rehabilitation center.

Not a fit: Patients outside the age range of 18 to 65, those with associated neurodevelopmental disorders, or individuals unable to participate in home visits may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the quality of care for patients with schizophrenia-like disorders by tailoring interventions to their specific ecological contexts.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific use of the ESSME questionnaire is novel, similar approaches evaluating ecological factors in mental health care have shown promise in enhancing patient outcomes.
