Evaluating body function using Showmotion technology
Non-invasive Evaluation of Upper and Lower Body Function With Showmotion
This study is testing a new technology called Showmotion to see how well it can measure movement and muscle activity in the shoulders, hips, knees, and spine of healthy volunteers.

What this trial studies
This study aims to assess upper and lower body function by utilizing the Showmotion platform, which employs wireless inertial and magnetic units to analyze motion patterns. The investigators will establish baseline kinematics and muscle activity in 60 healthy volunteers, focusing on the shoulder, hip, knee, and spine. Unlike traditional motion analysis that requires specialized labs, Showmotion allows for real-time evaluation in various settings, making it a more accessible option for understanding joint and body mechanics.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy individuals aged 18 to 65 without any musculoskeletal pathologies.
Not a fit: Patients over 65 years old, those with active infections, or individuals with a BMI over 30 may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance the understanding of joint function and movement patterns, leading to improved diagnosis and treatment strategies for osteoarthritis.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of innovative motion analysis technologies is growing, this specific application of Showmotion technology for evaluating joint function is relatively novel.
