What this trial studies

This clinical trial aims to assess the effectiveness of incorporating Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) therapy into a standardized rehabilitation protocol for patients recovering from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction surgery. Participants aged 18-45 will be randomized into two groups: one receiving standard rehabilitation and the other receiving BFR therapy alongside rehabilitation. The study will evaluate functional recovery, muscle strength, and overall rehabilitation outcomes over a 12-week period, with assessments conducted at baseline and at 2, 6, and 12 weeks post-surgery. The goal is to determine if BFR therapy enhances recovery compared to traditional rehabilitation methods.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients aged 18-45 who have undergone ACL reconstruction surgery.

Not a fit: Patients with cardiovascular comorbidities, severe metabolic disorders, or previous joint disorders requiring surgery on the affected leg may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could lead to improved recovery times and functional outcomes for patients after ACL surgery.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promising results with BFR therapy in rehabilitation, suggesting potential benefits in similar contexts.
