Evaluating Angiojet Thrombectomy for Iliofemoral Deep Vein Thrombosis
The Role of Angiojet Rheolytic Thrombectomy in The Management of Iliofemoral Deep Venous Thrombosis
This study is testing a new procedure called Angiojet thrombectomy to see if it can safely help people with recent iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis feel better and avoid complications.

What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the efficacy and safety of Angiojet rheolytic thrombectomy in treating iliofemoral deep vein thrombosis (DVT). It focuses on restoring venous patency, monitoring periprocedural complications, and evaluating the development of post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) following treatment. The study targets patients with acute iliofemoral DVT, particularly those who are symptomatic for less than 14 days and have a good functional ability. The research will analyze outcomes related to thrombus removal and the potential benefits of early intervention.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients with acute iliofemoral DVT who have a life expectancy of more than one year and are symptomatic for less than 14 days.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic DVT, those who cannot tolerate endovascular procedures, or those with contraindications for contrast media will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the management of iliofemoral DVT, reducing complications and enhancing patient quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown promise with catheter-based interventions for DVT, suggesting that this approach may yield beneficial outcomes.
