What this trial studies

This observational study utilizes Magnetic Resonance Venography (MRV) to assess the prevalence of anatomical variants of dural sinuses in participants from Sohag. The study involves conducting MRV examinations, which can be either contrast-enhanced or non-contrast, to evaluate the patency of the dural venous sinuses and cerebral veins. Participants must have normal cerebral MRV results and provide consent to participate. The study aims to gather data on the anatomical variations present in the local population.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are residents of Sohag, both male and female, with normal cerebral MRV results who consent to participate.

Not a fit: Patients with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, previous head injuries, or contraindications for MRI will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could enhance the understanding of dural sinus anatomy, potentially improving diagnostic and treatment strategies for related conditions.

How similar studies have performed: While similar studies have been conducted, this specific evaluation of anatomical variants in the Sohag population is novel.
