What this trial studies
This clinical trial aims to assess the effectiveness of the Make the Connection (MTC) online program for caregivers of infants and young children. It will compare outcomes related to the child-caregiver relationship, caregiver self-competence, stress, depression, and emotion regulation between participants in the MTC program and those on a waitlist. The study also seeks to understand how psychosocial risks affect the benefits derived from the program and identify barriers and facilitators to participation. Participants will be randomly assigned to either the intervention or control group.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are caregivers aged 18 and older who are primarily responsible for children aged 0-3 years and can engage with the program in English.
Not a fit: Caregivers who do not have children within the specified age range or who cannot complete the program in English may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance the emotional well-being and parenting skills of caregivers, leading to improved child-caregiver relationships.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with online parenting interventions, suggesting potential success for this approach.
