Evaluating a Video for CPR Training Effectiveness
Just in Time Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Trial (JITCPR-T): Comparison of a Brief Video to Traditional CPR Training: a Randomized Controlled Trial
This study is testing if a new video training for CPR is better than traditional classes or no training at all for helping people, especially stadium employees, learn how to perform CPR correctly in emergencies.

What this trial studies
This trial aims to assess the effectiveness of a Just in Time (JiT) video compared to the AHA Heartsaver® Course and no training in teaching individuals how to perform CPR correctly. It focuses on bystanders' roles in responding to out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) and aims to improve CPR performance and knowledge retention over time. The study will measure objective skills and subjective preparedness ratings among participants, particularly employees of Gillette Stadium, to determine the best approach for enhancing public CPR readiness.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are employees of Gillette Stadium who are 18 years or older.
Not a fit: Patients who are not employees of Gillette Stadium or are under 18 years old will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could significantly improve the ability of laypersons to perform CPR during emergencies, potentially increasing survival rates from cardiac arrests.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown that technology-enabled self-instruction formats for CPR training can be as effective as traditional methods, indicating potential for success in this novel approach.
