What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the psychometric properties of the Turkish shortened version of the Western Ontario Rotator Cuff Index (SHORTWORC). It focuses on the validity and reliability of this tool in measuring treatment outcomes and activity limitations for patients with rotator cuff injuries. By developing a more efficient scale that targets specific areas, the study seeks to enhance evaluations in clinical settings. Participants will be assessed based on their rotator cuff pathology and its impact on their quality of life and functionality.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals aged 18-64 with rotator cuff pathology requiring surgical treatment.
Not a fit: Patients with chronic inflammatory diseases, cervical spine radiculopathy, or other recent shoulder issues may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a reliable assessment tool for better management of rotator cuff injuries in Turkish-speaking patients.
How similar studies have performed: While the approach of validating a localized assessment tool is common, the specific adaptation of the SHORTWORC index for Turkish-speaking patients is a novel effort.
