What this trial studies

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the PRPP (Perceive, Recall, Plan and Perform) task analysis system in aiding decision-making for multi-professional care teams supporting individuals with aging psychiatric disorders. The focus is on maintaining independent living or facilitating appropriate housing referrals for patients experiencing cognitive decline. Conducted at the Charles Perrens Hospital in Bordeaux, this prospective, single-center study involves a mobile team dedicated to outpatient psychosocial rehabilitation care. The goal is to prevent hospitalization for patients who are psychiatrically stabilized but losing autonomy.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are individuals aged 40 and older who reside in the PGU sector and receive support from the relevant psychiatric department.

Not a fit: Patients who have been hospitalized for more than 18 months or refuse to participate in the research project may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could enhance the quality of life for aging patients with psychiatric disorders by enabling them to live independently.

How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown promise in using task analysis systems for similar patient populations, indicating potential for success in this approach.
