What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the reliability and validity of the Athlete Fear Avoidance Questionnaire (AFAQ) when translated into Turkish. It focuses on understanding how fear of re-injury affects athletes' rehabilitation and return to play. By examining psychological responses to sports injuries, the study seeks to provide insights that could enhance rehabilitation strategies. The research will involve licensed athletes who have been active in sports for at least five years and have been training regularly for the past year.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are licensed athletes with at least five years of experience who are currently active in their sport.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of visual, mental, or systemic diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved rehabilitation plans that address psychological factors, potentially reducing recovery time for athletes.
How similar studies have performed: While there are existing scales for measuring readiness to return to play, the AFAQ's specific focus on fear avoidance in athletes is a novel approach that has not been extensively tested in this population.
