What this trial studies
This clinical trial assesses the effectiveness of the Pathway to Healthy Aging (Path-HA) Program on improving health-related quality of life and functional abilities in older adults at risk of accelerated aging. Participants aged 60 and above will be randomly assigned to either receive the 14-week intervention or serve as a control group without the intervention. The study will measure outcomes across six health domains, including locomotor and cognitive functions, and will evaluate both immediate and long-term benefits through follow-up assessments and individual interviews. A total of 1000 participants will be recruited for this randomized controlled trial.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are community-dwelling adults aged 60 or older with at least two risk factors for accelerated aging.
Not a fit: Patients who are younger than 60 or have only one or no risk factors for accelerated aging may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the quality of life and functional abilities of older adults, promoting healthier aging.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies utilizing similar community-based interventions for healthy aging have shown promising results, indicating potential for success in this approach.
