What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the validity and reliability of the 6-minute pegboard and ring test specifically in overweight and obese adults. By measuring how well this test can evaluate physical function in this population, the researchers hope to establish a reliable tool for future assessments. Participants will be individuals with a body mass index of 25 kg/m2 or higher who volunteer for the study, while those with certain health conditions will be excluded. The study is observational and does not involve any interventions or treatments.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are overweight or obese adults with a body mass index of 25 kg/m2 or higher.
Not a fit: Patients with uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes, or other serious comorbidities may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a reliable assessment tool for evaluating physical function in overweight and obese individuals.
How similar studies have performed: While this specific approach may be novel, similar studies assessing physical function in overweight populations have shown varying degrees of success.
