What this trial studies

This study aims to assess the validity and reliability of the 6-minute pegboard and ring test specifically in patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome. By observing how these patients perform on the test, researchers hope to gather data that could help in understanding the physical capabilities and limitations associated with fibromyalgia. The study will include participants aged 18-65 who have been stable on their medications for at least three months. The findings could provide insights into the functional abilities of fibromyalgia patients.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are adults aged 18-65 who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome and are stable on their medications.

Not a fit: Patients with musculoskeletal problems, cardiopulmonary or neurological diseases, malignancies, or those who are pregnant may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved assessment tools for evaluating physical function in fibromyalgia patients.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific pegboard test may be novel in this context, similar assessments have been used in other studies to evaluate functional abilities in various patient populations.
