What this trial studies
This study investigates the effectiveness of iso-inertial resistance training compared to traditional gravitational strength training in physically active older adults aged 60 and above. Conducted at the Espai Esport Wellness Center in Granollers, the trial will last for six weeks and aims to assess improvements in muscle power, physical fitness, and fall risk. By focusing on innovative training methods, the study seeks to enhance the functional capacities of older adults, promoting healthier lifestyles and reducing the risk of physical and mental health issues.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are physically active adults aged 60 or older who regularly use the gym facilities.
Not a fit: Patients with acute osteoarticular or musculoskeletal injuries, systemic diseases, or neurodegenerative diseases may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide older adults with effective training methods to improve their strength and functional abilities, enhancing their quality of life.
How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with strength and power training in older adults, indicating that this approach has potential for success.
