Evaluating a new software for precise catheter navigation in heart procedures
Assessing the Accuracy of Catheter Localization With NorthStar Software in Real-Time MRI-Guided Cardiac Ablation

What this trial studies
This study aims to assess the accuracy of catheter localization using the NorthStar software during real-time MRI-guided cardiac ablation therapy for atrial flutter. The NorthStar software is designed to enhance the precision and efficiency of catheter manipulation within the complex anatomy of the heart. By rigorously evaluating its performance in a clinical setting, the study seeks to validate the software's viability for improving patient outcomes in cardiac procedures.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are patients undergoing a real-time MRI-guided flutter ablation procedure at the Amsterdam UMC.
Not a fit: Patients lacking legal capacity or insufficient proficiency in the Dutch language may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this could lead to more accurate and effective cardiac ablation procedures, potentially reducing complications and improving recovery times for patients.
How similar studies have performed: While this approach is innovative, it is essential to evaluate its effectiveness as similar studies have not been widely reported.
