What this trial studies
This observational cohort study aims to establish and evaluate a new prediction model for assessing cardiovascular disease risk among community-dwelling adults. It involves a retrospective analysis of health data from residents who participated in annual health checks between 2015 and 2019, as well as a prospective analysis of data collected from 2020 onwards. The study will gather demographic, medical history, and lifestyle information, along with biological samples for further analysis. Participants will be followed up until December 2025 to assess the effectiveness of the prediction model.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study include adults aged 65 years and older, or those with diabetes mellitus or hypertension.
Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the inclusion criteria or refuse to provide informed consent may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a reliable tool for early identification and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in the community.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success in developing prediction models for cardiovascular diseases, indicating that this approach has potential.
