What this trial studies

This observational study aims to assess the validity and reliability of the Camry Dynamometer, a low-cost alternative to the gold standard Jamar® Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer, for measuring grip strength in healthy adults aged 18-65. The study will involve healthy volunteers who do not have any conditions that could affect grip strength. By comparing the results from the Camry Dynamometer to the established standards, the study seeks to determine if this more affordable device can be effectively used in clinical and research settings.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are healthy adults aged 18 to 65 without any medical conditions affecting grip strength.

Not a fit: Patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, neuromuscular diseases, or those using assistive devices will not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide a cost-effective method for measuring grip strength, making it more accessible in various healthcare settings.

How similar studies have performed: While the use of low-cost dynamometers has become common, the specific validation of the Camry Dynamometer has not been extensively studied, making this approach somewhat novel.
