What this trial studies
This multicenter observational study assesses the diagnostic performance of the POSOS app in identifying drug-induced iatrogenesis through simulated clinical vignettes. Emergency physicians will be randomly assigned to either utilize the POSOS app or not while responding to a series of clinical scenarios that vary in complexity. Their responses will be recorded at two intervals, and additional data on their experience and resource usage will be collected. The study aims to enhance the detection of iatrogenic events in urgent medical situations, which is a significant public health concern.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are emergency physicians with at least three years of practice experience.
Not a fit: Patients who are not emergency physicians or those not involved in the simulation will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could improve the detection of drug-induced medical errors, enhancing patient safety in emergency care.
How similar studies have performed: While the use of simulated clinical vignettes for training and evaluation is established, the specific application of the POSOS device for iatrogenesis detection is novel.
Eligibility criteria
Show full inclusion / exclusion criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Not applicable as the study population is made up of clinical vignettes, there is no inclusion of patients. * The physicians included are emergency physicians, selected by convenience so as to have as many physicians (seniority of practice 3 years after thesis) as (seniority of practice less). Exclusion Criteria: * Not applicable. * Simulations with technical faults will be excluded: (absence of the test doctor, internet access not working, PC malfunction, serious disruptions during the simulation).
