What this trial studies
This observational study aims to assess the impact of a multidisciplinary care pathway on the progression of renal function in patients with stage 4 and 5 chronic kidney disease. The program includes nephrology visits, consultations with dietitians, and specialist renal nurses, and the study will analyze how varying levels of participation in this program affect clinical and biological parameters. It focuses on patients treated at Aura Sante clinics over a one-year period, utilizing retrospective data to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of the care pathway.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are patients diagnosed with stage 4 or 5 chronic kidney disease who participated in the care program during 2021.
Not a fit: Patients without medical follow-up during the study period or those with certain active medical conditions will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved management strategies for patients with advanced chronic kidney disease, potentially delaying the need for dialysis.
How similar studies have performed: While similar multidisciplinary approaches have shown promise in managing chronic kidney disease, this specific evaluation of a national program is relatively novel.
