What this trial studies
This interventional program uses an educational escape room activity integrated into face-to-face nursing classes to teach the steps of the Nursing Process. Fourth-year nursing students will work through scenario-based puzzles that require applying assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills. Researchers will measure students' self-efficacy, team collaboration, and anxiety before and after the intervention to track any changes. The program is run at Bezmialem Vakif University in Istanbul and excludes students already familiar with escape-room methods.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal participants are fourth-year nursing students who attend face-to-face classes at Bezmialem Vakif University and have no prior training with the educational escape room method.
Not a fit: Students who are not in the fourth year, who participate only online, or who already have experience with educational escape rooms may not gain further benefit.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this method could increase students' confidence and teamwork and reduce anxiety, leading to stronger nursing-process skills in clinical settings.
How similar studies have performed: Gamified learning and escape-room approaches in health professions education have shown promising but still limited evidence for improving engagement and practical skills, so this is an emerging area with encouraging results.
