What this trial studies

This pilot project aims to improve primary health care systems in the Raichur and Chamarajanagar districts of Karnataka, India, by leveraging local government structures known as Gram Panchayat Task Forces (GPTFs). The project focuses on enhancing service utilization, quality, and responsiveness of Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) over a two-year period. It seeks to empower GPTFs to foster collaboration among community members, healthcare providers, and local governance to promote social accountability and community ownership of health services. Key research questions will explore stakeholder perceptions, strategies for community engagement, and the impact of GPTF interventions on health service delivery.
