What this trial studies

This study investigates the effects of endorphin massage on anxiety levels in pregnant women scheduled for cesarean section. Husbands of the participants will be trained to perform the massage before the surgery, and the study will compare stress and pain levels before and after the intervention. A total of 68 pregnant women will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving the massage or a control group receiving standard care. Blood samples will be taken to measure cortisol levels, providing objective data on stress reduction.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are pregnant women admitted for cesarean section who are willing to participate in the study.

Not a fit: Patients with psychiatric illnesses or those who do not speak Turkish may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce anxiety and stress levels in pregnant women undergoing cesarean sections.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific approach of endorphin massage is novel, similar studies have shown that massage therapy can effectively reduce anxiety in various populations.
