What this trial studies
This observational study aims to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of an employment program designed for young Black sexual minority men. Participants will attend a two-day workshop focused on employment skills and the connection between work and health. Over a period of 13 months, they will complete four surveys to assess their experiences and outcomes related to HIV care. The study also involves facilitators who will provide feedback through surveys and focus groups.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Black or African American males aged 18-29 who have had sexual contact with another man.
Not a fit: Patients who have previously participated in the 'Work2Prevent' employment intervention may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance HIV care engagement and improve health outcomes for young Black sexual minority men.
How similar studies have performed: While similar interventions targeting employment and health outcomes have shown promise, this specific approach is relatively novel.
