What this trial studies
EmoTIChealth is a digital intervention delivered as a serious game platform aimed at promoting psycho-emotional health in adolescents aged 12–16. The program combines universal health-promotion content for general adolescent development with specific modules tailored to young people living with chronic conditions such as asthma, food allergy, type 1 diabetes, and allergic rhinitis. The platform is designed to build personal resources and provide psychological support during a key developmental stage, with content accessible online and requiring internet access. Enrollment and oversight occur through the University of Valencia site in Valencia, Spain, and participation requires Spanish language proficiency.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are Spanish-speaking adolescents aged 12–16 who can consent with their parents/guardians, have internet access, and either are healthy or have asthma, food allergy, type 1 diabetes, or allergic rhinitis.
Not a fit: Those without reliable internet access, non–Spanish speakers, or adolescents whose needs require intensive in-person mental-health care are unlikely to benefit from this digital program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, the program could improve socioemotional skills, reduce future emotional difficulties, and offer tailored psychological support that may help adolescents better manage chronic conditions.
How similar studies have performed: Similar serious-game and digital psychoeducation programs for adolescent mental health have shown promising but mixed results, while condition-specific digital modules for chronic illnesses are less extensively validated.
