What this trial studies

This project compares the effects of intraaural vagus nerve stimulation and deep breathing exercises on the autonomic nervous system in mothers of children with cerebral palsy. The study will include 38 mothers aged 18-50, who will be randomly assigned to either the vagus nerve stimulation group or the deep breathing exercises group. Assessments will be conducted before and after the interventions to evaluate changes in autonomic nervous system function, pain, depression, sleep quality, and caregiver burden. The goal is to determine which intervention is more effective in supporting the physiological and psychological balance of these mothers.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are mothers aged 18-50 who have a child diagnosed with cerebral palsy between the ages of 4-18.

Not a fit: Patients who are caring for another child under the age of two or have chronic diseases may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could provide effective interventions to improve the well-being of mothers caring for children with cerebral palsy.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of vagus nerve stimulation and breathing exercises is novel, similar interventions have shown promise in improving autonomic function in other populations.
