What this trial studies

This project aims to support children with joint hypermobility through a specialized exercise program that enhances motor and sensory skills. It will involve 40 children aged 5-18, whose joint hypermobility will be assessed using the Beighton Score. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will engage in an exercise program, while the other will use textured insoles in addition to the exercises. The study will evaluate the impact of these interventions on tactile sense, balance, foot load distribution, and overall quality of life before and after the program.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are children aged 5-18 with a Beighton score of 6 or above and a BMI between 18.5-24.9.

Not a fit: Patients with recent surgeries, chronic diseases, or specific conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this intervention could significantly improve the quality of life and sensory-motor skills in children with joint hypermobility.

How similar studies have performed: While the specific combination of textured insoles and exercise in this context is novel, similar interventions targeting sensory and motor improvements in children with joint hypermobility have shown promise.
