What this trial studies
This study investigates the impact of a telerehabilitation exercise program on the quality of life of mothers diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and the health of their fetuses and neonates. Participants will be divided into two groups: one receiving structured telerehabilitation exercises and the other receiving routine medical care. The study aims to assess how regular physical activity, facilitated through telehealth, can improve maternal health outcomes and overall pregnancy experiences. By monitoring participants remotely, the study seeks to provide a convenient and effective alternative to traditional exercise methods for managing GDM.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are women aged 20 to 35 years, between 20-28 weeks of gestation, diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus.
Not a fit: Patients with a history of type 1 or type 2 diabetes, high-risk pregnancy conditions, or those carrying multiple fetuses may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly enhance the quality of life for mothers with gestational diabetes and improve health outcomes for their babies.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown positive outcomes with telerehabilitation and exercise interventions for managing gestational diabetes, indicating potential for success in this approach.
