What this trial studies

This study investigates how spinal mobilization and diaphragmatic breathing techniques can improve respiratory function in patients with Parkinson's disease, particularly those experiencing camptocormia and restrictive lung disease. The research focuses on the relationship between postural disorders and respiratory complications, which are common in Parkinson's patients. By employing various physiotherapy methods, the study aims to enhance lung capacity and alleviate dyspnea associated with these conditions. Participants will undergo specific interventions, including diaphragmatic stimulation and spinal mobilization, to assess their impact on respiratory parameters.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease who have a Modified Medical Research Council (MMRC) score greater than 2.

Not a fit: Patients with conditions that significantly affect diaphragmatic motility or those who have had recent thoracic or abdominal surgeries may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this study could lead to improved respiratory function and quality of life for patients with Parkinson's disease.

How similar studies have performed: Previous studies have shown positive outcomes with similar physiotherapy approaches in improving respiratory function in patients with related conditions, suggesting potential for success in this study.
