What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the impact of the Ballistic Six exercise program, which incorporates plyometric training and blood flow restriction (BFR), on the shoulder strength and injury prevention in young male cricket players. Participants aged 18-25 will be randomly assigned to either an experimental group receiving BFR training or a control group performing standard plyometric exercises. The study aims to enhance the rotator cuff muscles' performance by mimicking the overhead throwing motion, thereby addressing common shoulder injury risks in bowlers. The trial will assess improvements in muscle strength, power, and endurance through structured training sessions over a specified period.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates are active male cricket players aged 18-25 with at least one year of playing experience and a satisfactory shoulder function score.

Not a fit: Patients with a history of shoulder injuries, systemic diseases, or those not actively participating in training may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly reduce shoulder injuries and enhance performance in young cricket players.

How similar studies have performed: While the combination of plyometric training and blood flow restriction is gaining interest, this specific approach in cricket is relatively novel and has not been extensively tested in prior studies.
